Advanced structures

Advanced Structures is a new department at Orbicon A/S with some of the best structural engineers in Denmark. We ‘live’ for challenging structural design and wish to work with architects, who create structures that expand beyond the idea of traditional buildings. At the same time we focus on constructability and building costs.

LH as strategic partner

The department engineers have extensive project experience both domestically and abroad. Apart from being experts in design of steel and concrete structures, we are experienced in 3D design techniques. We primarily work in AutoCAD®, using ADT (Autodesk Architectural Desktop) and ABS (Autodesk Building Systems), but also master Rhino modelling software. Furthermore, our structural design software is compatible with AutoCAD®.

These tools enable us to be active partners in primary phases of the building design and, based on architectural sketches, create 3D-models and propose optimised solutions to complicated structural systems. This ensures a constructive start of the building process for all parties involved. The subsequent design process can thus be focused on realizing the architecture and overall value desired by the owner or occupant.

3D-Workshop

We have successfully arranged kick-off workshops to discuss and evaluate different solutions to structural subjects. This facilitates cross-disciplinary overview of the primary load bearing systems, necessary for accommodating the architectural visions.
